I had only been running for a few minutes but I could already tell that my legs were about to give up on me. Glancing behind me I could see that the creature was already catching up with me and a sinking feeling started to take over my gut. "HELP ME," I yelled out into the deep jungle, hoping that somebody would pop out of nowhere with a giant gun and bring down the creature that was about to feast on me. I noticed some rustling in the vegetation ahead of me and immedietly knew that I was done for, but I was wrong. A woman suddenly appeared from the bushes and motioned for me to come to her. I wasn't about to argue with someone who was offering help but I couldn't help but notice that she wasn't really armed. She had a small curved blade sheathed in her belt and she seemed to wear some sort of armor over her left arm and chest area, but It didn't seem like it was enough. "Stand back," she said, her voice was strong and it seemed to demand obedience. I rushed over to her and did as she said. She began to recite something in what I assumed to be some sort of ancient language and her hand began to glow. Amazed I stood there and watched as she pointed towards the creature and shot a beam of brilliant energy. It hit the giant green bird directly in the chest area and it fell back a few feet. Dazed it stood back up and stared at us for a few minutes almost weighing its options only to squak a few times, turn around, and head off in another direction. I breathed a sigh of relief and then turned to my saviour, "thank you, I thought I was done for sure," I said in between my breaths. "What were you doing in the middle of the jungle unarmed," she said as she turned. She had an upset look on her face, "that kaji bird would have eaten you alive if I wasn't here to save you." The creatures name sounded a bit familiar but I didn't know from where, I was more concerned about my whereabouts anyway, "Ummm, where am I," I asked with a bit of concern in my voice. "Are you dense," the woman asked as she pulled her blade out and began cutting her way through the thick jungle. The way she said that almost made me feel like an idiot, like I should already know the answer to my own question. "I'm serious I don't know where I am," I said as I followed. "I mean, I know I'm in a jungle so maybe Africa," the woman turned to me, "what is Africa," she asked with a confused look on her face. "You know......, Africa," I didn't know how else to explain it. "Are you well," the woman asked as she put her hand against my head, I assumed she was checking for fever. "This is the jungle of Arathemis," she said putting her hand down, "you're not from around here are you." For some reason I was a bit annoyed by this question, obviously I was not from "here." I mean here I am standing in the middle of the jungle wearing only a pair of shorts and a robe and she asks me if I'm from around here.
Amethyst Angel loves the pic you drew of her.
